MOVENUE GUIDE

The Movenue guide

Setup, routines, active workouts, Apple Watch readings, audio and Live Activities, history, exports, privacy, deletion, and troubleshooting.

Movenue brings routine planning, active-session coaching, and social workouts into one app. This guide walks through the current iPhone and Apple Watch experience from sign-in to account deletion.

Screens and labels can change as the app is updated. If an instruction does not match your version, check the build at the bottom of Settings and contact support@movenue.me.

  16. Troubleshooting

1. Before you begin

You need:

  • a compatible iPhone running iOS 17 or later;
  • an internet connection for sign-in, Cloud sync, and community features;
  • a Movenue-supported identity provider;
  • to meet the minimum age shown during setup;
  • optionally, a compatible paired Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later for available heart-rate, pace, and distance readings.

Movenue is a general fitness and wellness app. Choose exercise, intensity, equipment, and space appropriate for you. If you are unsure whether exercise is appropriate, ask a qualified health professional.

2. Sign in and complete your profile

Sign in

  1. Open Movenue.
  2. Choose Continue with Apple.
  3. Complete Apple’s secure sign-in flow.
  4. If sign-in is interrupted, return to Movenue and try again.

Google sign-in may appear only after it is enabled and configured for the public release. Never send a sign-in code or identity token to support.

Complete the profile gate

Before the main app opens, Movenue asks for:

  • a username;
  • a display name;
  • confirmation that you meet the minimum age;
  • acceptance of the current Terms;
  • acknowledgment of the current Privacy Policy.

The reviewed backend accepts a unique username of 3–30 ASCII characters. It is stored in lowercase, must begin and end with a letter or number, and may use a period or underscore internally. The current Build 1 profile username is not designed to be changed later.

Read the linked Terms and Privacy Policy before continuing.

Edit the profile later

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Open the profile menu.
  3. Choose Edit profile.
  4. Update the display name, profile image, location, or bio.
  5. Save the changes.

Only publish information you are comfortable making visible under your profile visibility setting. Do not place an address, phone number, medical history, or other highly sensitive information in a public bio.

3. Learn the five tabs

Home

Home collects your relevant Movenue activity. Depending on your account and backend release, it can contain community activity, your schedules, live workouts, upcoming sessions, and posts from the community.

Explore

Search for people and public routines. Change the scope between All, People, and Routines to narrow results.

Create

Start a new routine. Build manually is the supported creation path. The Use AI flow in the reviewed MVP is a local preview under development and does not promise a generated production routine.

Favorites

Open routines or posts you saved from supported social screens.

Profile

See your profile and routines. Use the profile menu to edit the profile, open History or Settings, and sign out.

4. Create a routine

Start the routine

  1. Open Create.
  2. Choose Build manually.
  3. Enter the routine name.
  4. Add an optional description and routine photo.
  5. Choose Public if other members should be able to discover the routine, or Private if it is only for you.

Review images and notes before publishing. Exercise media can reveal a person, location, or other private detail.

Add an exercise step

  1. Choose Add step.
  2. Enter an exercise name.
  3. Optionally choose an exercise photo and add a form cue or reminder.
  4. Under Tracking, choose:
    • Count reps for a manual counter; or
    • Use timer for time-based work.
  5. Set the number of sets. A value of zero may represent open sets in supported flows; use a defined number for a predictable session.
  6. For a counter step, enter the rep target or leave it open.
  7. For a timer step, enter the work duration or leave it open.
  8. Set recovery Between sets and After this step.
  9. Save the step.

Add optional metric limits

A step can include a limit for active work and a separate limit for recovery. Supported conditions can compare an available reading—such as current heart rate, pace, total distance, or distance in the current set—with an upper or lower threshold.

When several conditions are present, choose whether all conditions or any condition must be met. During a workout, an eligible reading must breach the condition across consecutive updates before Movenue can alert.

Important:

  • A threshold is a coaching preference, not a medical alarm.
  • It works only when the required reading is available.
  • Sensor delays or errors can produce a late, missing, or incorrect alert.
  • Never rely on Movenue for emergency detection or to decide whether continuing exercise is safe.

Arrange and save

Use the move controls to place steps in the intended order. Review:

  • step order;
  • counter versus timer;
  • sets and targets;
  • recovery;
  • notes and images;
  • visibility;
  • optional limits.

Save the routine. Cloud-backed items can take time to upload on a slow or interrupted connection.

5. Find, save, and open routines

  1. Open Explore.
  2. Enter a person, username, routine, or matching term.
  3. Choose All, People, or Routines.
  4. Open a result for more detail.

Private or blocked content should not appear to an unauthorized viewer.

Read a routine

A routine detail page can show:

  • creator and visibility;
  • description and image;
  • number of steps and sets;
  • numbered session plan;
  • expanded notes;
  • work and recovery thresholds;
  • community actions such as follow, like, comment, view, or save where supported;
  • schedule, join, live-event, edit, visibility, archive, and training actions depending on ownership and event state.

Only the owner can edit their eligible routine. Private routines are not intended for public discovery.

Save a routine

Use the save or favorite control on the supported card or detail screen. Open Favorites to return to it. A creator can later archive, remove, or change the visibility of an item, so a saved link does not guarantee permanent availability.

6. Schedule or join a workout

Depending on the production release and your permissions, a routine can be scheduled or attached to a live event.

Schedule

  1. Open the eligible routine.
  2. Choose the schedule action.
  3. Select the date and time.
  4. Choose a reminder if available.
  5. Confirm.

Reminder preferences do not guarantee delivery. Delivery depends on the production notification release, operating-system permission, device settings, network, and service availability. Verify important plans independently.

Join or leave an event

  1. Open the event or routine detail.
  2. Choose Join.
  3. Review any participant information that is visible.
  4. Choose Leave if you no longer intend to participate.

Joining an event does not turn on live metric sharing. Live sharing requires a separate eligible feature and an explicit preference.

7. Complete an active workout

Start

  1. Open an eligible routine.
  2. Choose Train or the applicable event start action.
  3. Review device safety, space, equipment, and the routine.
  4. Begin the session.

The active coach appears outside the normal tab navigation so the session stays in focus.

Read the coach

The coach shows:

  • workout and current phase;
  • overall progress;
  • current and upcoming steps;
  • work type and target;
  • current set;
  • available Watch readings;
  • active time and total time;
  • controls appropriate to the current state.

Counter step

  • Tap the active counter area to add a repetition.
  • Use Undo to remove the most recent eligible count.
  • Choose Complete set when the set is done.
  • For an open target, decide when the set is complete.

Timer step

  • The work timer uses stored session dates, so it can catch up if the UI refresh is delayed.
  • Follow the countdown or elapsed state.
  • Use the available completion or pause controls when needed.

Recovery

Movenue can run recovery between sets and after a step. Follow the recovery state, and use Skip recovery only when it is available and appropriate for you.

Main controls

  • Pause/Resume — stops or resumes eligible session progression.
  • Undo — reverses the latest eligible manual action.
  • Lock/Unlock — protects controls from accidental activation while leaving the counter interaction available where designed.
  • Complete set — ends the current set.
  • Finish — starts the flow to end the session early or complete it.

Read confirmations carefully. A cancelled session and a completed session may be stored differently.

Completion

At completion, dismiss the finished workout to return to normal navigation. The completed record is added to private workout history and queued for Cloud sync. If associated with an eligible event, the service can mark participation as completed without publishing the private HealthKit-derived samples.

8. Use Apple Watch readings

Grant permissions

Apple Watch asks for the permissions needed to:

  • read heart rate during an active iPhone workout;
  • start a HealthKit workout session so heart rate can be sampled;
  • use location while active to estimate pace and distance.

Grant only the permissions you choose. Apple controls these permission screens, and permissions can be changed later in system settings.

Start collection

  1. Wear and unlock the paired Apple Watch.
  2. Open Movenue on iPhone.
  3. Start an active workout on iPhone.
  4. Allow time for connection and the first sensor readings.

The iPhone remains authoritative for workout timing. The Watch displays compact session state received from the phone and sends available readings back.

Understand the metrics grid

  • Max HR, Avg HR, Current HR
  • Max pace, Avg pace, Current pace
  • Distance
  • Active time — excludes eligible recovery and paused periods.
  • Total time — overall elapsed session time.

NA means Movenue does not currently have a usable reading. It is not an error by itself.

Live-sharing preference

Open Settings → Social & privacy → Share live workout metrics. It is off by default. Turning it on should have an effect only when an approved live-participant feature is available, during an eligible event, and for authorized participants. The preference is not consent to publish private history.

9. Use sound cues and Live Activities

Sound cues

Open Settings → Sound cues to manage:

  • cues on or off;
  • beep or narrator style;
  • optional counter tick or spoken count;
  • narrator voice;
  • Movenue volume;
  • delayed sound testing.

Narration can announce work, current set, target, recovery, and the next step. Timer progress is not continuously spoken. Device voice availability and audio settings affect the result.

Live Activity

When supported and allowed by iOS, an active workout can create a Live Activity. It publishes compact session status—not a full health record—to the Lock Screen and supported Dynamic Island layouts.

If it does not appear:

  1. confirm Live Activities are allowed for Movenue in system settings;
  2. confirm the workout is still active;
  3. check Focus and Lock Screen configuration;
  4. restart the app if an old activity appears stuck.

10. Review history and export samples

Open History

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Open the profile menu.
  3. Choose History.

Use the available period filters to review all history, a recent period, or a custom date range. Aggregate cards recalculate for the selected records and ignore unavailable sensor values.

Open a completed workout

Select a session to review:

  • routine snapshot;
  • start, end, and duration;
  • completed steps and sets;
  • reps or durations;
  • available aggregate readings.

Export raw CSV

Use the share/export action on a workout detail. The CSV contains captured raw samples, such as capture time, elapsed seconds, phase, step, set, heart rate, pace, distance in a set, and total distance when those values exist. It intentionally does not add every summary/average/max value.

Treat CSV exports as sensitive. The destination app or person may apply a different privacy policy.

Delete a history item

Use the eligible delete action and confirm. Aggregates recalculate without the deleted item. Cloud and backup deletion timing is governed by the published Privacy Policy.

11. Manage social safety

Report content or a member

Open the report action on the relevant user, routine, post, or comment. Choose:

  • Spam
  • Harassment or bullying
  • Hate speech
  • Sexual content
  • Violence
  • Privacy concern
  • Something else

Add concise factual detail. Do not repeat unlawful content or include unnecessary sensitive information. A report is not an emergency service.

Block a member

Use the block action on an eligible profile or social surface. Blocking is designed to remove follow relationships and hide both members from relevant search, feed, and profile access.

Immediate danger or unlawful content

For immediate danger, contact local emergency services. For an urgent Movenue safety or privacy issue, use the in-app report and email support@movenue.me. Preserve relevant timestamps and redacted screenshots.

12. Change settings and privacy

Open Profile → menu → Settings.

Cloud and account

Review sync or account state. A stable connection may be needed for current Cloud data.

Appearance and training

  • System, Light, or Dark appearance.
  • Metric or imperial units.
  • Default recovery duration.

Social and privacy

  • Public or private profile visibility.
  • Default scheduled-workout reminder.
  • Workout notification preference.
  • Social notification preference.
  • Explicit live-metric sharing preference, off by default.
  • Current timezone synchronization.

Notification preferences express your choice but do not guarantee delivery.

Sound

Configure cues, style, counter sound, voice, volume, and testing.

Data

  • Import or export routine packages.
  • Clear downloaded cache.
  • Permanently delete the Movenue account.

13. Import and export routines

Export

Routine export can produce:

  • JSON when no packaged images are needed; or
  • ZIP with routine JSON and an images/ folder when image files are included.

Check the destination before sharing. A routine may include creator-written notes and photos.

Import

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose Import JSON or ZIP.
  3. Select one or more compatible files.
  4. Review imported routines before publishing or training.

Movenue can accept supported app JSON, simplified compatible documents, or ZIP packages. It sanitizes basic numeric values and creates fresh internal IDs, but it cannot verify that a third-party routine is safe, accurate, original, or appropriate.

Never treat an imported or AI-written routine as professional medical or coaching advice. Inspect every step, target, recovery, note, image, and limit.

14. Clear downloaded data

Clear downloaded cache is not account deletion.

  1. Open Settings → Data.
  2. Choose Clear downloaded cache.
  3. Read the confirmation.
  4. Confirm only if Cloud-backed data has synced and the device can reconnect.

Downloaded routines and history are removed from that iPhone and can be downloaded again from Movenue Cloud. Unsynced local-only state or an active session may be at risk, so do not use this as a routine troubleshooting step without understanding the consequences.

15. Sign out or delete the account

Sign out

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Open the profile menu.
  3. Choose Sign out.

Sign-out clears the secure Movenue session and account-scoped local cache according to the app’s implementation. It does not delete the Cloud account.

Permanently delete

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Open the profile menu.
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Scroll to Data.
  5. Choose Delete Movenue account.
  6. Read the permanent-deletion warning.
  7. Choose Delete Account.

The current app warning states that deletion permanently removes the Movenue profile, routines, posts, workout history, and active sessions and cannot be undone. The backend is designed to revoke sessions/provider grants and remove related content, history, media, and private HealthKit-derived data through a durable deletion process. Legal exceptions and backup timing must be disclosed in the final Privacy Policy.

If you cannot access the app, follow /account-deletion or email support@movenue.me from the address connected to the account. Support may need to verify the request without asking for a password or sign-in token.

16. Troubleshooting

General reset sequence

  1. Note the exact problem and time.
  2. Confirm internet access where Cloud behavior is involved.
  3. Confirm you are in the intended Movenue account.
  4. Close and reopen Movenue.
  5. Restart the affected iPhone or Apple Watch.
  6. Check for an app or operating-system update.
  7. Review permissions relevant to the feature.
  8. Avoid clearing data, deleting an account, or reimporting until you know what will be lost or duplicated.

Contact support

Email support@movenue.me with the app version/build, devices and OS versions, reproduction steps, time/timezone, and a redacted screenshot if useful.

Never send:

  • passwords;
  • identity-provider codes;
